The Giessbach Falls above Lake Brienz
Description
A private day through one of the most spectacular regions of the Swiss Alps, with your own driver-guide and no group timetable.
From Zurich the road leads into the Haslital, where the Aare has cut a narrow gorge through the limestone. Then come the wooden houses of Brienz on its turquoise lake, a short walk to the Giessbach Falls, the cliffs and waterfalls of the Lauterbrunnen valley and the town of Interlaken between two lakes.
The pace is yours: stay longer where you like it, stop for photos along the way, and take lunch with a view of the mountains whenever the day allows.
- The Aare Gorge on walkways and through tunnels (mid-April to late October)
- Brienz, the Brunngasse and Lake Brienz
- A short walk to the Giessbach Falls
- The Lauterbrunnen valley and Interlaken

A natural gorge 1,400 metres long and up to 200 metres deep at the foot of the Grimsel and Susten passes, explored in about 45 minutes on walkways and through tunnels.
