The Sphinx Observatory, Jungfraujoch

Description

Jungfraujoch, the “Top of Europe”, is reached by Europe’s highest railway, at 3,454 metres. This private day takes you there from Zurich and back, with the Lauterbrunnen valley on the way home.

From Grindelwald, the Eiger Express gondola climbs to Eigergletscher in about 15 minutes. The Jungfrau Railway then continues through the mountain to Jungfraujoch, stopping at Eismeer for a view of the glaciers. At the top you visit the Ice Palace, the Sphinx observation terrace and Alpine Sensation.

Afterwards there is time for Lauterbrunnen, a village between sheer cliffs and waterfalls, with the Staubbach Falls.
